In the storage building being built at the rear of the Menards, the extension cord used to provide power to portable tools did not have a ground prong thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard.

29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(iv):     Employees shall always stand firmly on the floor of the basket, and shall not sit or climb on the edge of the basket or use planks, ladders, or other devices for a work position.    a.     At the back of the complex where a wood structure was being built for storage of building materials, the employee working in the American Crane JLG was observed climbing out of the platform over the top rail to gain access to the walk platform thereby exposing the employee to a fall hazard.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):     "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and verticalsurface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrailsystems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    a.     At the rear of the complex where a wood frame structure was being built to store building materials, the employees were not wering fall protection to install metal skids to act as a walkway thereby exposing the employees to a 8'6" fall hazard.

At the rear of the complex where a frame building was built to store building materials, the employee were observed using an 6 foot and an 8 foot ladder to gain access to a walk platform which was 8'6" high thereby exposing employees to a fall hazard.

At the storage building at the rear of the Menards where walkways were being installed, the employees were using the top step of the six foot step ladder to gain access to the work area thereby exposing employees to a fall hazard.    b.     At the storage building to the rear of the Menards where walkways were being installed, the employees were using the top step of the 8 foot step ladder to gin access and return down to the ground thereby exposing employees to a fall hazard.
