29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and verticalsurface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrailsystems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) On or about 03/16/12, at the Hampton Inn under construction, located on Route 19, in Brockport, NY., employees did not have fall protecdtion when exposed to an open work platform 11 feet 5 inches above ground level. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
