Visible gauges or audible alarm or pressure activated devices were not installed to indicate or insure that the required air velocity is maintained.    Workplace, 2 Daniel Road, Fairfield, NJ    a) The employer directed employees to perform flammable paint spray application onto products they manufacture.  The employees apply the Sherwin Williams Polane T paint in a Spray Tech spray booth.   The spray booth was operated with an average air velocity over the open face of the booth of 48 fpm.    b) The employer  directed employees to perform flammable paint spray application in the Spray Tech spray booth onto products they manufacture, without installing a visible gauge or audible alarm to insure that the required air velocity is maintained, prior to the spray application.       Violation occurred on or about 3-6-12

The following devices were located within 20 feet of the spraying area:    a) Two 120 Volt electrical outlets, one approximately 3 feet and the 2nd approximately 8 feet from the spray booth.    b) Approximately 8 standard 120 Volt light fixtures in the ceiling, approximately 6 to 11 feet from the spray booth.
