Production Areas: The employer did not establish an energy control program for employees performing maintenance and repairs on machines such as but not limited to dough machines, conveyors and packaging machines, on or about 3/30/2012.

29 CFR 1910.263(k)(9): Rotary, die machines, pretzel rolling, and pretzel-stick extruding machines. Dough hoppers shall have the entire opening protected with substantial grid-type guards to prevent the employee from getting his hands caught in moving parts, or the hopper shall be extended high enough so that the operator's hands cannot get into moving parts. a. Production Areas: An employee sustained injuries to his right hand while cleaning a dough hopper, the machine did not have a guard in place, on or about 3/29/2012.
