Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees exposed to corrosive chemicals splashing into their eyes:    a) On or about March 29, 2012, employees were exposed to severe burn hazards to their eyes when they transferred and sprayed Farm Blast AF without the appropriate eye protection in the milking parlor.    b) On or about March 29, 2012, employees were exposed to severe burn hazards to their eyes when they transferred and mixed Super Booster additive without the appropriate eye protection in the main barn.    Abatement Certification and Abatement Documentation Required.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met (Agriculture Reference: 1928.21(a)(5):     On or about January 25th, 2012 the company had not developed or implement a written hazard communication program for employees exposed to hazardous materials such as:   1. Copper Sulfate (Penta hydrate, CuSO4)   2. Foam Blast AF   3. Super Booster    All provisions of 29 CFR 1910.1200(f) through (h) must be covered in a Hazard Communication program. Key elements include, but are not limited to the following:   1. Labeling  2. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)  3. Employee information and training    Abatement Certification and Abatement Documentation Required.
