29 CFR 1910.94(a)(5)(ii)(b): Abrasive-blasting respirators shall be worn by all abrasive-blasting operators when using silica sand in manual blasting operations where the nozzle and blast are not physically separated from the operator in an exhaust ventilated enclosure: a) Blasting Area: An employee using silica sand #00 to sand blast architectural pieces wore a North half face respirator with organic cartridges and safety glasses, on or about March 29, 2012. No abatement certification or documentation required.

29 CFR 1910.94(a)(5)(v): Abrasive-blasting operators shall be equipped with heavy canvas or leather gloves and aprons or equivalent protection to protect them from the impact of abrasives. a) Blasting Area: Employees were sand blasting architectural pieces and were not provided heavy canvas or leather aprons, on or about March 29, 2012. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
