Bryn Mawr, Chicago, IL - An employee of Allied Waterproofing, Inc. doing sandblasting of rebar in a commercial parking structure was exposed to continuous noise levels at 147.4% of the allowable 8-hour Time-Weighted Average (TWA) sound level (90 dBA). The equvalent dBA sound level of 147.4% is approximatley 92.9 dBA. The sampling was performed for 121 minutes during one shift on April 12, 2012. Zero exposure was assumed for the unsampled period of time, 359 minutes.     In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.
