29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees shall be provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: On or about April 11, 2012, at 345 St. Joseph St. in New Orleans, LA; the employer did not ensure that his employee was wearing eye protection (safety glasses) when using the table saw. The company doing a remodeling job for the Ressidence Inn Hotel. This condition exposed the worker to a struck by hazard.

29 CFR 1926.303(b)(1): Grinding machines shall be equipped with safety guards in conformance with the requirements of American National Standards Institute, B7.1-1970, Safety Code for the Use, Care and Protection of Abrasive Wheels, and paragraph (d) of this section: On or about April 11, 2012, at 345 St. Joseph St. in New Orleans, LA; the employer did not ensure that the portable grinder being used by his employee had the guard installed. The company was doing a remodeling job for the Residence Inn Hotel. This condition exposed the worker to a struck by hazard.
