29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section except when: North Jobsite - On or about April 12, 2012 employee was working in an excavation 8 feet in depth. Employee working in type C soil was not protected from cave-in hazard by a trench shield protective system or a sloping and benching system.
