29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: Referenced by 29 CFR 1915.154 A) At the Lake Union Shipyard, an employee working on the fishing vessel Arica, were wearing half face air purifying respirators while welding, and they had facial hair where the mask of the respirator sealed with the employee's face.
