29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating at 50 volts or more were not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): (a) Facility, 2709 Route 764, Duncansville, PA: On or about 04/23/12, the heating coils on the K.H. Huppert heat treat furnace, 480 volts, 3 phase, were not guarded against accidental contact. The interlock on the door was inoperable and did not break the current to the coils. An employee was shocked when removing a stainless steel foil bag containing parts from the furnace. The employee was using a set of metal tongs in his right hand to grab the foil bag and was holding onto the door latch with his left hand when the bag contacted the coils and shocked the employee.
