29 CFR 1910.22(c): Covers and/or guardrails were not provided to protect personnel from the hazards of open pits, tanks, vats, ditches, etc.: Employees in the service area were exposed to fractures and contusions from six feet falls to metal grating platforms while performing clean-up operations after cars were pulled out, and the employer failed to effectively provide and enforce the use of safety nets that spanned the length of the pit opening. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
