29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met: On or about 04/18/12, At the Reverse Osmosis Plant area, at Caneel Bay, St. John, VI. The employer did not implement their written hazard communication program to ensure having material safety data sheets when using and/or handling products as follows: a. Employee used and/or handled sodium hypochlorite solution (Aqua Guard Chlorinating Sanitizer 10.5%) during plant operations. b. Employee used and/or handled compressed gases such as nitrogen (UN 1066-Linde Gas) during plant operations. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item since it was submitted prior to citation issuance. Please disregard the abatement date.
