The employer had not complied with the provisions of 29 CFR 1926.652(b)(1)(i): a. On or about 4/30/2012, Trench East of North Bound Lanes, The west and south trench walls were near vertical and adequate cave-in protection was not provided to employees who worked in the trench, which was greater than 5 feet in depth and was not classified for soil type. Employees were exposed to cave-in hazards.
