29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2)     The employer did not develop an accident prevention program, that provided for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment, to be made by competent persons designated by the employer.    a)  500 Jersey Ave., Gloucester, NJ:  Employee was exposed to fall hazards between 20 and 25 feet while conducting roofing work on the sloped (6 on 12 pitch) roof of a multistory commercial building.  The employer had not initiated a program for a competent person to conduct frequent and regular inspections of the job site, to identify hazards and/or stop the work in the event workers were placed in a hazardous condition and as such the employee was not provided adequate fall protection (PFAS, safety nets, guardrails, etc.).  Observed on or about 05/03/2012.     NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1):     The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who might was exposed to fall hazards that enabled the employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards.    a)  500 Jersey Ave., Gloucester, NJ:  Employee was exposed to fall hazards between 20 and 25 feet while conducting roofing work on the sloped (6 on 12 pitch) roof of a multistory commercial building with no fall protection.  The employee had not been trained in the recognition of the hazards as well as the procedures to minimize those hazards when working from heights.   Observed on or about 05/03/2012.     NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
