29 CFR 1910.303(h)(3): Energized parts of electric equipment rated over 600 volts, nominal, were exposed and the minimum clear work space was less than 3 feet wide (measured parallel to the equipment): a.) The housekeeping cart and materials were stored immediately in front of the 480 Volt Box for #1 compressor in the compressor room. A clearance of at least 3 feet was not maintained. Abatement Certification is required.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(2)(ii): The employer's hazard communication program did not include methods the employer will use to inform the other employer(s) of any precautionary measures that need to be taken to protect employees during the workplace's normal operations and in foreseeable emergencies: a.) The company's Hazard Communication Program did not include the specific means to assure the information and training necessary for the Specialty Crew completing nonroutine jobs using client supplied chemicals at a client site. This crew was not informed of protective ventilation usage within the Hazmat room, the higher concentration of 2-butoxyethanol within the material used or the potential for excessive vapor generation by pouring quanitiies onto floor areas as a method of paint removal. b.) The company Hazard Communication Program did not include the means to assure the information and training of site employees potentially exposed to chemical vapors during nonroutine clean-up activities while working on clients' sites. Abatement Certification or Documentation is required.
