On a daily basis employees strip food carts that arrive back from the airlines of china, silverware, and glassware; sort them in appropriate bins to be washed; distributes carts by silverware, glassware and china; and accepts clean china from a conveyor and sorts on racks. On a daily basis Porters pour / transfer, mix, transport, and use products including, but not limited to, Liqu-A Klor (Corrosive; pH: 12.2), Suma Diverpak P6 (Corrosive; pH: 13), Suma Calc D5 (Corrosive; pH: 2), Eden Microibial Fruit & Vegetable Wash (Corrosive; pH: 0.72), UC 99 Heavy Duty Bathroom Cleaner (Corrosive; pH: 1.5), Taski UC33 Heavy Degreaser (Corrosive), DIP IT XP (Corrosive; pH: 12.0), Good Sense Dumpster Deodorant/Trash Splash (Corrosive), Suma Freeze (Corrosive; pH; 11.82) , D10 Concentrate, and UC24 Heavy Duty Floor Cleaner while engaged in the the task of clean industrial kitchen appliances, dishes, floors, and bathrooms. These products contain hazardous chemicals including, but not limited to, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Carbonate, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Phosphoric Acid, Nitric Acid, Hydroacetic Acid, Potassium Dodecylbezene Sulfonate, Dipropylene Methyl Ether, Triphosphoric Acid, Pentasodium Salt, Acetic Acid, Dodecyl Dimethyl Ethylbenzene, Ammonium Chloride, Propylene Glycol, 2-butoxyethanol, Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, and Quarternary Ammonium Chlorides. The employer did not perform a hazard assessment, on or about 05/11/12 and 06/13/12. b) At the facility, JFK International Airport / Building 139 - Maintenance Dept. On a daily basis employees pour / transfer, mix, transport, and use products including, but not limited to,LPS Heaavy Duty Silicon Lubricant, Contact Cement, Refrigerator Lubricant, Capella WF 68 Refrigerator Compressor Oil, High Gloss enamel, Urethane Alkyd Gloss Enamel, Primer and Undercoat, Concrete and Fllor Paint, Rust-Oleum Professional High Performance Protective Enamel, Enamel Spray Paint, Hard hat Striping Paint, Paint Thinner, Floor Tile Adhesive, and Cement while performing general maintenance tasks throughout the facility. These products contain hazardous chemical such as, but not limited to, Isoparaffinic Solvents, Propane / Isobutane, Toluene, Aliphatic Petroleum Distillate, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Xylene, Acetone, Ethylbenzene, N-Butyl Acetate, Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether, 1,2,4 Trimetylbenzene, Naphtha, Dipropylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Dipropylene glycol butoxy ether, and silica. Employees are provided with a half mask negative pressure respirator for use while handling, and working with the abovementioned chemicals.
