The railing was 28.5 inches from the top of the step. Abatement Certification and Abatement Documentation Required.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about May 17th, 2012 the fill and observation areas on the FF6 were not guarded to prevent employee exposure to a pinch point hazard from the auger turning against the machine walls. b) On or about May 17th, 2012 employees were exposed to in-running nip points, rotating parts and crushing hazards from moving arms, rods and wheels on the ice cream sandwich filler and cartoner. Abatement Certification and Abatement Documentation Required.
