On or about 5/8/12, Mechanic Shop Bay Area : Employees using a fiberglass step ladder to access storage area on top of the Parts Department used the top step of the ladder and jumped 2'-6" to the upper storage area. Employee was exposed to falling from the top of the stepladder while climbing or descending.

Access to suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body was not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. The travel path from the hazard to the eyewash unit was not free of obstructions. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection
