29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1):     Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards:    El Monte Plastics, LLC, located at 103 South Shane St., Ohio City, OH 45874: On or about May 29, 2012, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from fall hazards while working on the platforms with unprotected sides that are located next to Oven 1 and Oven 2 in the facility. Employees were exposed to fall hazards of over 6 feet from the platforms to the ground below.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. Employees, working on the platform, were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 6 feet from the platform to the ground below.
