29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):     One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  The employer does not guard the point of operation and rotating parts of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury. This violation was observed on or about May 30, 2012, in the shop area where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-in hazards when operating the drill presses without guarding the point of operation and the rotating parts of the machine.    THE H & W MANUFACTURING WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1910.212(A)(1), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 313890675, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1, AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON MAY 11, 2010, WITH A FINAL ABATEMENT DATE OF JUNE 4, 2010, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 2731-H SPRING STUEBNER, SPRING, TX 77389.    Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that guards are installed on all machines to protect employees from rotating parts and the point of operation.
