29 CFR 1910.101(a): The employer did not determine that compressed gas cylinders under his control were in a safe condition to the extent that this could be determined by visual inspection: (a) On June 06, 2012, The employer did not ensure that the welding gas cylinder located in the welding area of the facility was in an safe condition, in that the glass covers for the gauges were missing allowing dirt and debris to accumulate to a level that made the pressure gauge dial totally unreadable. Employees were exposed to serious struck by injuries in the event of an accident from an incorrect determination of the pressure readings. Abatement certification for this violation is not required.
