29 CFR 1910.151(c):     Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use.  [63 FR 33450, June 18, 1998]    INSTANCES:    a. On or about 05/09/2012, the employer did not ensure that employees had a clear path between the battery charging station at the west end of the building to the eye wash station mounted to the west wall of the building. The eye wash was 35 ft from the battery charging station to the eye wash with large material located between.    b. On or about 05/09/2012, the employer did not ensure that the eyewash located on the west wall of the shop area, near the battery charging area, was identified by a highly visible sign and that it was visible within the area served by the eye wash. This inhibited employees from quickly identifying the location of the eyewash should they get battery acid in their eyes. The current sign was 8.5" x 11" and was difficult to see from the battery charging area which was 35 ft away.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5)(ii): Appropriate hazard warnings, or alternatively, words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals, and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, will provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical.    On or about 05/09/2012, the employer did not ensure that five chemical storage tanks located in the NW corner of the shop that contained various types of oils had adequate hazard warnings affixed to the tanks to inform employees obtaining the various chemicals of any potential healt hazards that they may encounter.
