29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Observed on or about 12 June 2012. Employee was standing on a 6 inch wide sill in a window opening 60 inches wide and 54 1/2 inches high where the outside edge was 15 feet 7 inches to the lower level. The employee was not protected from falling.
