29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment: (a) Bakery Area - The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present during a fryer Boil Out, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment. On our about June 6, 2012, an employee suffered third degree burns to her ankle, heel and inner thigh, when a small deli container, not equipped with handles, slipped from her hands as she was removing the cleaning agent/water from the fryer and dumping it onto a 5 gallon bucket without wearing personal protective equipment.
