29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).     a). On or about 6/13/12, on site, for employees that were removing glue and paint from the stock carts. The employees were using 3M Troubleshoot Baseboard Stripper. The stripper contained chemicals including, but not limited to, 2-Butoxyethanol. The employees used the stripper on a daily basis for 5 hours a day. The employer did not provide PPE such as safety goggles or chemical resistant gloves.     b).  On or about 6/13/12, on site, for employees that were spray painting the stock carts. The employees were using Rust-Oleum spray paint. The spray paint contained chemicals including, but not limited to, toluene and xylene. The employees used the spray paint on a daily basis for 5 hours a day. The employer did not provide PPE such as safety glasses/ goggles or chemical resistant gloves.
