The platform extended 24 inches past each wheel of the lift.  The lift is 8 feet wide and the platform was 12 feet wide.  The manufacturer allows the platform to extend only 10 inches beyond the wheels.  The platform was not approved for use by the manufacturer, Lull International, Inc.

The lift was manufactured as per ANSI B56.6 standards which allows load capacity at 10 inches over the width of each wheel.
