29 CFR 1926.405(b)(1):     Conductors entering boxes, cabinets, or fittings. Conductors entering boxes, cabinets, or fittings shall be protected from abrasion, and openings through which conductors enter shall be effectively closed. Unused openings in cabinets, boxes, and fittings shall also be effectively closed.    a)	On or about June 20, 2012; at the center of the jobsite, employees were allowed to use an electrical cabinet which had an unused opening that was not effectively closed.  The electrical cabinet along with multiple electrical outlets that it powered were affixed to a temporary power distribution panel that employees used to power their tools.        Progressive Interest, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard [29 CFR 1926.405(b)(1)], which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313029522, citation number 01, item number 002 and was affirmed as a final order on 10/18/2010, with respect to a workplace located at 1731 W. Prien Lake Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70605.

Panelboards shall be mounted in cabinets, cutout boxes, or enclosures designed for the purpose and shall be dead front. However, panelboards other than the dead front externally-operable type are permitted where accessible only to qualified persons.
