29 CFR 1910.157(e)(3): The employer shall assure that portable fire extinguishers are subjected to an annual maintenance check. Stored pressure extinguishers do not require an internal examination. The employer shall record the annual maintenance date and retain this record for one year after the last entry or the life of the shell, whichever is less. The record shall be available to the Assistant Secretary upon request.    (a) Employee lounge, room 202 - On or about June 20, 2012, the annual maintenance check of a fire extinguisher was due four months prior to the inspection.  The employer did not maintain other records to show a current annual maintenance check.    (b) Outside door to storage room 203 - On or about June 20, 2012, the annual maintenance check of a fire extinguisher was due four months prior to the inspection. The employer did not maintain other records to show a current annual maintenance check.    (c) Outside door to storage room 203 - On or about June 20, 2012, the annual maintenance check of a fire extinguisher could not be determined due to a missing annual maintenance check tag. The employer did not maintain other records to show a current annual maintenance check.    (d) Maintenance yard trailer - On or about June 20, 2012, the annual maintenance check of a fire extinguisher was due four months prior to the inspection. The employer did not maintain other records to show a current annual maintenance check.
