29 CFR 1910.1048(n)(3)(i): The training program for all employees exposed to formaldehyde did not include a discussion of the contents of this formaldehyde regulation and/or the contents of the Material Safety Data Sheet: a) Women's Health Care Group - Employees place biopsy specimens in containers of 10% formalin, which contains 3.9- 9.8% formaldehyde, a potential carcinogen. The employer did not provide employees with training, in accordance with this regulation. Employees were not aware of the contents of the MSDS; the physical and health hazards of formaldehyde, and spill cleanup procedures. Observed on or about 6/1/12. Note: Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
