29 CFR 1910.138(a): Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. At the facility, on or about June 27, 2012 and times prior thereto, the employer did not select and provide at no costs to employees appropriate work gloves. Employees were exposed to hazards associated with sorting trash, such as but not limited to being cut.
