29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1):     The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation:      a) The Buccini/Pollin Group [BPG] - The employer provided their employees with safety glasses which did not adequately protect the entire eye while using a product that contained Sodium Hydroxide and Alkyl Polglycoside. The pH of sodium hydroxide is 14 and is corrosive to the eye and skin. This was observed on July 7, 2012

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1):     The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:    a) The Buccini/Pollin Group [BPG] - The employer did not develop a hazardous communication program for the employees who use the hazardous chemical product Alka-Brite Plus [4120] which contains Sodium hydroxide and Alkyl Polglycoside which can cause chemical burn and blindness. This was observed on July 7, 2012.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8):     The employer did not ensure that material safety data sheets were readily accessible to the employees in their work area during each work shift:        a) The Buccini/The Pollin Group - The employer did not provide their employees with a copy of the MSDS for Sodium hydroxide. This chemical product is used to clean the condenser of the HVAC system. This was observed on July 6, 2012.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):     Employers did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees had not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area and chemical-specific information was not always available through labels and material safety data sheets    a) The Buccini/The Pollin Group - The employer did not provide training to their employees who used the hazardous chemical  Alka-Brite Plus [4120], [Sodium hydroxide and Alkyl polyglycoside] to perform  the cleaning of the HVAC's condensor. This was observed on July 6, 2012.
