29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: For the Dalane Machining, Inc. facility at 13530 Wright Circle, Tampa, FL 33626, as observed on or about 06/25/2012: employees in the machine shop were exposed to hazards created by flying metal fragments, rotating parts, and unguarded blades associated with the following equipment: a) a manual lathe without a safety guard to protect against flying metal fragments and rotating parts. b) a ACRA SBS 280-A horizontal metal band saw. The unused portion of the blade was not fully guarded, and the bottom blade edge extended past the guard exposing employees to laceration or amputation hazards.
