Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the employer exposed employee(s) performing pressing operations to the hazard of second degree steam burns and hot surface hazards:    a)  Establishment -  1299 McCarter Highway, Newark, NJ:    The employer did not train employees that operate the Unipress, Model RX, utilized to steam garments, as to safe operating procedures and use of operator controls, as outlined in the Unipress Operator's Manual to prevent steam burns.     Violation occurred on or about 6/28/2012.

Violation occurred on or about 6/28/2012.       c)  Establishment - 1299 McCarter Highway, Newark, NJ:    The exit door was not maintained free and unbobstructed as a portable metal garment hanging rack, portable floor fan and a portable metal garment rack were placed within the exit route.
