29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i): Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employees exposure: a) Riverview Ridge: Employees tested seven resident's blood glucose levels via lancets (OneTouch Delica, ReliaMed Safety Seal, Bayer Microlet, Envoy Ultra Thin, Specialty Medical Supplies Safety Seal, Accu-Chek SoftClix, and Accu-Chek Compact) with various lancing devices and the employer did not ensure the lancets were engineered with sharps injury protection, on or about 06/29/2012. b) Riverview Ridge: Employees administered one resident's insulin injections via syringes (CanAm Care Ultra Comfort) and the employer did not ensure the syringes were engineered with sharps injury protection, on or about 06/29/2012. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
