29 CFR 1910.22(a)(2): Where wet processes were used, drainage was not maintained, and false floors, platforms, mats, or other dry standing places were not provided when practicable.    The employer failed to keep the meat cutting department and the hot food area dry and clean to prevent slips and falls. These areas are washed and scrubbed several times a day. The scraps, grease and oil from the food and water form cleaning the machines and the floors may cause employees to slip and fall.     Abatement certification and documentation is not required for this item.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The  point of operation of machines whose operation exposed an employee to injury, was not guarded:    The employer failed to protect employees from cuts, lacerations and amputations while using the meat cutting machines. The Biro Band Saws model 3334 (SN#41836 and 41837) were numbered 1 and 2. The guards were hard to adjust due to lack of use and employees have not been trained on how to use the push plate and the upper adjustable guard. Employees are required to cut meat as small as two inches by two inches while holding the piece.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
