29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): Programs did not provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers: a) Residence in at Bishops Gate, 1000 Bishops Gate Blvd., Mt. Laurel, NJ: Employees were exposed to a fall hazard of greater than 30 feet to the ground below while walking the roof, installing asphalt paper and carrying bundles of shingles on the steep sloped 6 on 12 pitch sloped roof of a wood frame three story hotel addition under construction with no fall protection. The employer had not initiated a program for a competent person to conduct frequent and regular inspections of the jobsite, to identify hazards and/or stop the work in the event workers were placed in a hazardous condition. Observed on or about 7/6/12. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Residence in at Bishops Gate, 1000 Bishops Gate Blvd., Mt. Laurel, NJ: Employees were exposed to a fall hazard of greater than 30 feet to the ground below while walking the roof, installing asphalt paper and carrying bundles of shingles on the steep sloped 6 on 12 pitch sloped roof of a wood frame three story hotel addition under construction. Employees were not protected from falling. Observed on or about 7/6/12. NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.
