OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck by hazard from using a lifting device that was not intended for this use:   a.) Langley Air force Base Hanger Bay: On or about 07/09/12, a JGL MDL #600A Ser# 00075895 articulating boom lift was not being used for its intended use in that the boom lift was used to lift panels by attaching a panel to the outside of the lift platform.   Reference: Articulating Boom lift manual #3121204 section1.3 operations states do not use this machine for any purpose other than positioning personnel, their tools and equipment.
