29 CFR 1926.25(a): During the course of construction, alteration, or repairs, debris was not kept cleared from work areas, passageways, and stairs, in and around buildings or other structures: Jobsite located at Fraternity Circle, URI Campus, Kingston, RI: On or about 06/27/2012 employees were conducting construction activities and were exposed to trip and fall hazards as a result of excess debris in the work areas located in the following instances: (a) Exterior of northeast side of western most dorm: The ground condition in front of the job box and scaffold was cluttered with construction debris such as discarded wooden pallets, large rocks, extension cord discarded bricks, flashing material, and discarded rebar material. (b) Exterior of northeast side of eastern most dorm: The entrance way had construction debris to include cement blocks, bricks, pile of waste cement, discarded wiring, banding straps, and discarded wooden pallets. The surface condition of the path being used to travel to and from the roll-off dumpster had a three to four inch depression and materials including hoses, brick, plastic wrap, lumber, and styrene blocks.
