29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A):     Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: (Construction Reference 1926.103)(a)).        Worksite: An employee wore a tight-fitting half-mask elastomeric respirator as protection against silica-containing dusts generated during grinding operations. The employee had excessive beard growth while wearing this respirator and this beard growth could interefere with the wearer's face-to-facepiece seal.
