29 CFR 1926.502(b)(2): Midrails, screens, mesh, intermediate vertical members, or equivalent intermediate structural members werenot installed between the top edge of the guardrail system and the walking/working surface when there is no wall or parapet wall at least 21 inches (53 cm) high: (a) Main Street, Bridge Deck - On or about July 11, 2012 the employer used a Miller SkyGrip horizontal life line as a guardrail system and no midrail was installed to protect employees from falling approximately 10 feet to the creekbed while walking across the bridge deck. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
