29 CFR 1926.451(e)(1) When scaffold platforms were more than 2 feet (0.6 m) above or below a point of access, portable ladders, hook-on ladders, attachable ladders, stair towers (scaffold stairways/towers), stairway-type ladders (such as ladder stands), ramps, walkways, integral prefabricated scaffold access, or direct access from other scaffold, structure, personnel hoist, or similar surface was not used.     Worksite, south - Employees conducting work on an awning of a commercial building were operating on a scaffold approximately 10 feet 7 inches above the ground. No safe means to access the top of the scaffold was in place on, or about, 07/13/12.        Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.

1926.451(g)(1)(i) Employees on a ladder jack scaffold were not protected by a personal fall arrest system.    Worksite, south - Employees were conducting work on awning of a commercial building from a ladder jack scaffold approximately 10 feet 7 inches in height. The employees were operating without personal fall arrest systems on, or about, 07/13/12.      Note: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
