Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact.      Mechanical Group Machinists were exposed to fall hazards of up to 15 feet when anchorage or tie-off points were not provided for use with personal fall protection equipment when employees were required to climb on top of the #3 and #4 50-Caliber Draw Presses in Zone 1, Building 1, Metallic Manufacturing to access the top of the presses to a) repair and replace brake assemblies, and b) to repair and replace tensioning rods.
