29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1): All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, and service rooms shall be kept clean and orderly and in a sanitary condition: a) Bureau of Land Management Redding Field Office Warehouse - On or about June 20, 2012 and at times prior thereto the floor space at the recreation side of the warehouse contained scattered "weed eaters", trimming saws, a 2 gallon fuel container and 3 boxes with of paint/weather protectant cans making access to the chairs and desk areas hazardous.

29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2): Exit access(es) were not at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points: a) Bureau of Land Management Redding Field Office Warehouse - On or about June 20, 2012 and at times prior thereto, exit access from the non-recreation side of the warehouse storage aisle containing the freezer was not maintained with at least 28 inches space. Exit access was measured at 22 inches at the freezer due to storage of boxes, rubber containers and other items and 25 inches where folding chairs had been set up for employee use restricting access from the storage aisle in case of emergency.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(2): Each exit must be clearly visible and marked by a sign reading "Exit.": a) Bureau of Land Management Redding Field Office Office and Warehouse - On or about June 20, 2012 and at times prior thereto, the Redding Field office did not have exit signs on the designated exit doors. Office: 1) The break rooms designated exit door(s) were not labeled with an exit sign. 2) The designated Exit door at the main entrance to the building did not have an Exit sign posted above it. A general exit sign was in an area that had a doorway to one side and two hallways in either direction making the actual designated exit door route unclear. Warehouse: 1) The two designated exit doors leading from the warehouse recreation and non-recreation areas did not have "Exit" signs. The warehouse contained cages and rows of storage that did not make the direction of travel to a designated exit within line of sight. In addition, no natural or emergency lighting was present that would assist employees in finding the exit doors.

The distance between the work rest and the grinding wheel was measured at 5/16th of an inch.

Compressed air shall not be used for cleaning purposes except where reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment. a) Bureau of Land Management Redding Field Office Warehouse - On or about June 20, 2012 and at times prior thereto, the compressed air was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.. The pressure on the compressed air cylinders pressure gauge was at or above 40 p.s.i. with home-made copper tube assembly attached for the outlet. No pressure reducing nozzle was present.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged, or marked with the identity and appropriate hazard warnings regarding the chemicals contained therein: a) Bureau of Land Management Redding Field Office Warehouse - On or about June, 20, 2012 and at times prior thereto, a two gallon fuel container in the recreation side of the warehouse was not labeled as to its contents. It was suspected of containing two stroke fuel for brush clearing activities, but could have contained gasoline or diesel as it was not labeled and employee was not present to confirm contents.
