29 CFR 1926.701(b): All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall or come against, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement: The employer does not protect employees from impalement hazards caused by unguarded rebar. This violation was observed on or about July 24, 2012, at the western entrance to the building where uncapped rebar coming out of the foundation exposed employees to impalement hazard as they enterd the doorway from the outside. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are protected from impalement hazards caused by unguarded rebar.
