29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4): Work rests on grinding machinery were not adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one-eighth inch: a) Workplace, Lettering Room: Employees used a Craftsman bench grinder to sharpen tools. The distance between the wheels and the work rests were measured at approximately 1/2 inch on the right side and at 1 inch on the left side; on or about 7/27/12. b) Worplace, Lettering Room: Employees used a Delta bench grinder to sharpen tools. The distance between the wheel and the work rest was measured at approximately 1 1/4 inches on the right side; on or about 7/27/12. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.

The opening between the wheel and the adjustable tongue was measured at approximately at 1inch on the left side and 1 1/2 inches on the right side; on or about 7/27/12. b) Workplace, Lettering Room: Employees use Delta bench grinder to sharpen tools. The opening between the wheel and the adjustable tongue was measured at 1 inch on the right side; on or about 7/27/12. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
