29 CFR 1926.501(b)(3): Each employee in a hoist area was not protected from falling 6 feet (1.8 m) or more to lower levels by guardrail systems or personal fall arrest systems: The employer does not protect employees from falling 6 feet or more when hoisting material from edge of roof. This violation was observed on or about 7/3/12, on the north side of roof where employees less than 2 feet from edge were exposed to a 23 foot 6 inch fall hazard when hoisting excess metal without a fall protection system.
