29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazards created by ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Zimmerman Equipment Company on Patterson Rig #330 at White River Dome 23-33R, Meeker, CO: On and before 7/26/12, the employer did not protect employees from hazards created by unguarded rotating parts of the centrifuge. The clutch rotating at 1800 rpm was not adequately covered. This condition exposed employees to an amputation hazard. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
