29 CFR 1926.501(b)(3): Each employee in a hoist area was not protected from falling 6 feet (1.8m) or more to lower levels by guardrail systems or personal fall arrest systems: The employer does not protect employees from falling 6 feet or more while in a hoist area. This violation was observed on or about August 9, 2012, on the of roof of a gas station being constructed where employees at the edge of the roof were exposed to a 14 foot 6 inch fall hazard while hoisting an air conditioning unit without a fall protection system.
