29 CFR 1926.451(b)(1)(i): Each platform unit (e.g., scaffold plank, fabricated plank, fabricated deck, or fabricated platform) was not installed so that the space between adjacent units and the space between the platform and the uprights were no more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide, except where the employer can demonstrate that a wider space is necessary: a) Near the entrance of the Burger King, under renovation, on or about August 14, 2012, employees who were exposed to a fall hazard were performing masonry work six and a half feet above the ground while standing on a tubular welded frame scaffolding platform that was not fully planked in that there was a thirty-inch gap between the edge of the platform and the outside scaffold frame leg. Ganaway Contracting Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.451(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314211194, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on August 24, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 911 Duluth Hwy, Ste F, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
